About Exit Motivations

Exit Motivations is designed to provoke and facilitate informed discussion, exploration and real world application of the academic theory behind an entrepreneur’s exit motivations.

Led by Simon Kidney, currently undertaking his Doctorate in Business Administration on entrepreneurial and exit cycle research at Cranfield University, where he has also been invited to teach on the EMBA programme, on scale up and exit.

Simon’s career consists of a music degree, an MBA, 16 years banking and 7 years of entrepreneurial activity, majority being start up, one significant scale up. The resulting portfolio turns over circa £50M with some 250 plus employees.

Despite a variety of ’entrepreneurial ventures’ Simon doesn’t consider himself an entrepreneur, more an income stream diversifier and opportunist.
